Samantha (Sam) Mero

During my three years at the University of Florida, I was privileged to watch Campus House grow from averaging 5-10 students to averaging closer to 50 when Bob and Celeste arrived. I was originally drawn in by the intimate setting and inspiring Biblical teaching under David Hull. I grew in my faith and developed strong friendships during my freshman year. Then, during my senior year, Bob and Celeste helped me discover my calling. 

At one M&M during the spring of 2000, a missionary came and spoke about the ministries of Bible translation and literacy. As a French major and linguistics minor, I was interested in anything involving language. After she was done speaking, Bob encouraged me to speak with her one-on-one. I was stunned to learn that of over 6,900 languages in the world, less than 500 have a complete Bible! This meeting at Campus House completely changed my life. Now, I am a missionary myself, preparing to move to West Africa to translate the Bible into the Mano language (see www.reachingthemano.com).
